Compassionate Mind Training for PhD’s

Tame your inner critic, reduce stress, and find a more compassionate way to navigate your PhD journey.

Build resilience and self-compassion

This training is designed for PhD candidates who struggle with perfectionism, harsh self-criticism, or stress that interferes with work and well-being. You'll become more aware of your stress triggers, explore slow-down strategies, and learn how to develop a kinder mindset. Using proven techniques from Compassionate Mind Training—drawing from CBT, mindfulness, and psychological research—you'll practise tools to restore balance between your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Sessions also include space for mutual support and personal reflection.

Important to know

  • Set aside around 30 minutes daily for exercises and journaling. Your reflections will be part of the group discussions.
  • This training requires time and focus. We advise against combining it with other training or group sessions.
  • We count on you to attend all meetings. This ensures continuity in your personal development and supports a safe, consistent group dynamic. If you cannot commit to all sessions, consider joining a future training that better fits your schedule.
